Now we know why we endure those long hot Summers. It is October and the air just smells cooler. Cabin fever is over and it is time to get outside and enjoy the rest of your home-remember it? The garden a place to escape,to drink that morning cup of coffee,to just sit back and relax. Let us help you get that outdoor living space back in order so you can do just that.
Time To Color Your World
October to me means planting Geraniums,petunias,pansies,snapdragons,alyssum,l obelia,tulips,daffodils,.......wow the list could go on forever. Wether you have pots,beds,or window boxes the time is here to transform your garden/home into that colorful retreat. We have been cultivating these beauties in our greenhouses in Mesa with tender loving care so that they can come home with you and brighten your day!! On the vegetable front. Lots of winter veggies are available for planting now. Again make sure that soil is good and prepared before hand. Remember anything we can eat the root,stem,or leaf of is probably a cool season vegetable!

Time To Go Green
If you plan to have a "green" lawn this winter, now is the time to prepare for that. Overseeding with ryegrass is necessary to have a green lawn here during the winter months. The time for doing that is October. When the nights get in the mid 60 degree range we can scalp the existing summer lawn and overseed it with a cool season grass, usually perennial ryegrass, that will stay nice and green when we feel like being outside and enjoying our lawns the most.
