It Is Here!!!

It is Here indeed!!Fall that is. According to the calendar and my skin Fall has arrived right on time. I know the days can still be warm for a while yet but the mornings and evenings are glorious-the pool is almost too cool to get into all of a sudden. That means the time to plant fall vegetable gardens is here in earnest, geraniums are looking great. we've received most of the fall bulbs for planting and there is not a better time to plant a tree than now-well if you didn't do it 20 years ago! Ready set plant-hope to see you in the garden!

Thanks For Making The Garden Fair A Success!

Thank all of you for turning out for our first open air garden fair of the season! Thanks especially to the vendors and exhibitors who helped to make the fair happen and especially Ted and Maria from Oscar's Coffee Bar for organizing it! Remember 3rd Saturday of every month so mark your calendar for October 17th!!!

Garden Fair Gets Fall Off To A Start

Join us and welcome Fall in this Saturday September 19th at both Harpers locations!! We have various vendors,exhibitors,food and snack booths,etc at either location!!! We will also have our 3rd Saturday of the month Garden Club Meeting at 10am. Jay Harper will conduct at the Scottsdale location and Jeff Harper will be in Mesa. The topic will be getting Fall gardens started!! The weather looks as if it is breaking, at least the mornings and evenings are delightful and that means we're headed in the right direction for fall planting!! Hope to see you there!!

Feels like Fall This Morning

Wow-don't know what time you went outside this morning but what a change. Just in time for our Fall Festival/Garden Fair and 3rd Saturday of the Month Garden Club meeting! Fall veggies are arriving daily, Geraniums, Marigolds,Allyssum, and more fall color on the way! Stay tuned for the rest of the week and plan on joining us this Saturday! Hot dogs, snow cones, arts and crafts, and of course the garden club meeting at 10!

Home and Building Expo

I'll be broadcasting the garden show with Rosie and Romey tomorrow at the Home and Building Expo at 8am at the Phoenix Civic Plaza and will also be in and out of the Harper's Landscape Booth with Justin and Rose our landscape designers. Be sure to stop by and check it out. Remember we have free passes at our two locations for the show!!

windbreak and shade provided by a single
mature tree planted on the west side of a home leads
to a decrease in utility bills of 12%, an astounding
amount when looked at in light of a tree’s lifespan

Well again we made it through another August! Although most of the time the weather doesn't feel much different, psychologically the calendar does say September and that means the first day of Fall is just 21 days away.
