October Open Air Market A Success

Thanks for all who participated and attended our October Open Air Market and Garden Club Meeting. Thanks also to Jerry Kolb of Helena who gave our garden club talk in Mesa about Ryegrass. If you haven't attended these are fun events with music food and arts and crafts as well as fresh produce! We will try and have pumpkins available until Halloween as well! Make sure to mark your calendar for November 21st as that is our annual Poinsettia Festival!! Hope to see you then.

Fall Garden Club/Fair Time!!

Remember that this Saturday is our 3rd Saturday of the month Garden Club/Fair Day! At Mesa Jerry Kolb from Helena will talk about Ryegrass/winter lawns, and Jay Harper will be in Scottsdale talking about fall/winter color!! We have vendors of candles,jewelry,food,produce and more at both locations and PUMPKINS!!!!! Hope you can make it out!

Race For The Cure

The Matriarch of the Harper Family,Adele Harper, made the "walk" Sunday! The Harper family and team members are proud of her! This is a great cause and what an amazing event. I was impressed by how many volunteers give their time to make this happen. If you haven't supported this effort find a way to do so. Now we know why we endure those long hot Summers. It is October and the air just smells cooler. Cabin fever is over and it is time to get outside and enjoy the rest of your home-remember it? Time To Go Green

If you plan to have a "green" lawn this winter, now is the time to prepare for that. Overseeding with ryegrass is necessary to have a green lawn here during the winter months. The time for doing that is October. When the nights get in the mid 60 degree range we can scalp the existing summer lawn and overseed it with a cool season grass, usually perennial ryegrass, that will stay nice and green when we feel like being outside and enjoying our lawns the most.
